I love everything about gymnastics, its an amazing sport, but the thing I love the most is seeing kids building physical strength as well as strength of character. There have been many great moments, but the stand out was watching a girl with no natural talent become a National Champion just through hard work, determination, mental toughness and commitment. She was a true role model.
BIO: I started coaching gymnastics in a small country town just over 25 years ago, because my daughter got involved in the local club and the coach was leaving. I then moved to Warwick where I started coaching at the Warwick Gymnastics Club. I spent many years coaching there before moving to Brisbane to take up the WAG Program Manager position at Splitz Gym. I was privileged to be involved at Splitz for over 9 years and worked with some great athletes and coaches during my time there. I have also served on the State and National Sports management committees for over 10 years. I have been very fortunate over the years to have worked with some outstanding athletes and am always amazed at the resilience of children who want to achieve a goal. I have been proud to coach athletes of all levels including.
63 Regional AA Champions, 55 State Champions 20 AA, 35 Apparatus
29 National Medallists including 7 Gold, 13 Silver and 9 Bronze
6 Border Challenge AA Champions & 1 International Gold
I am now looking forward to working at Allstars and am excited about the new season ahead working with a great team.
